The adventure begins!
My bags are packed, and I am ready to go! The adventure begins today at the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson Airport, or as locals refer to it as Hartsfield Latoya Jackson Intergalactic Spaceport and Hair Salon. I’m not really sure why either, but I like it so I will roll with it. The end destination will be Shanghai, but I have a two hour stop over in Seoul, South Korea, which is where I am writing now!
The 14 hour flight of a lifetime…
Not really, but I will say that Korean Airlines is a very nice airline, and the attendants are very good! I flew on their Boeing 747-8i, which was an amazing experience! If you ever have the chance to ride top deck on one these, you will not be disappointed! About 45 minutes after takeoff, our meal service began. I went with the Korean dish over the western dish, and I am so glad I did! The main dish was bibimbap, which consists of a mix of mushrooms, vegetables, minced beef, and a side of white rice! I had a Korean beer, Cass Max, and it was a pretty good pairing for the meal. After the meal service, I watched a movie and decided to try and get some rest. After maybe two hours of sleep, I woke up to some turbulence and decided to stay up. The lie-flat seat was actually quite comfortable especially for a 14 hour flight. After a few more hours, I tried their ramen snack but was slightly disappointed that it was just a cup-o-noodles in a nice bowl. Oh well, they made up for it with the dinner selection two hours before we landed! I again went with the Korean option of Kalbi-jjim (braised short ribs with a side of rice). After we landed, I headed straight to the Korean Airlines Prestige Lounge.
They have automatic beer dispensers!
I saw into the future, and it looks amazing! In the Prestige Lounge, there are two beer dispensers that automatically adjust the glass to make sure you get the perfect pour. It was pretty great! Definitely the highlight so far, but I am going to hangout with some elephants later in this trip, so it will be dethroned before too long!
THEY HAVE BIDETS!!!
I’m going to begin with saying that everybody poops. There are books about it, and it happens. Now that is out of the way, I can share my excitement of using a real bidet! My life has forever been changed, and now, I want one wherever I live or visit.
